
Vancouver, Wash. - Junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) and freshman Eric Hancock (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka) officially wrapped up the 2012 Saint Xavier University men's cross country season with solid performances at Saturday's NAIA National Cross Country Championships at the Fort Vancouver National Historic site in Vancouver, Wash. Corcoran finished in 82nd place overall out of 309 of the NAIA's top runners in the 8K (8,000 meters) race with a time of 25:58. Hancock took 135th place clocking in at 26:30 at the meet.

Channahon, Ill. - The Saint Xavier University men's cross country team placed third out of the 12 teams competing in the 2012 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships on Saturday, November 3, at Channahon Community Park in Channahon, Ill. SXU was led by junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice), who finished in ninth place overall in the 8,000 meter (8K) race with a time of 25:06.94. Freshman Eric Hancock (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka) finished in 18th overall with a time of 25:40.40. Both Corcoran and Hancock qualified for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships based on their finishes in Saturday's race, while Corcoran was also named to the all-conference team for his ninth-place finish.

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Saint Xavier University men's cross country team placed sixth out of 34 teams competing at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday, October 20. Junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) led the way for SXU finishing in 19th place overall with a time of 25:48.18 over the 8K race (8,000 meters). Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) rival St. Francis (Ill.) won the race with Shawnee State (Ohio), Aquinas (Mich.), Cornerstone (Mich.) and Indiana Wesleyan (Ind.) coming in second, third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Cross Country Runner of the Week when the league office announced the honor on Tuesday. Corcoran garnered the recognition for the second time this season after placing second overall in a competitive field at the Bethel College (Ind.) Cross Country Invitational on Friday. He finished just three seconds behind frontrunner Grant Gunneson of Aquinas College (Mich.), who registered a time of 25:23. Corcoran posted a time of 25:26 over the 8K (8,000 meters) course.

South Bend, Ind. – With junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) finishing in second place overall out of 118 runners with a time of 25:26.2, the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team traveled to South Bend, Ind., this past Friday to race in the Bethel College Cross Country Invitational 8K (8,000 meters) race at St. Patrick's County Park. The Cougars finished third out of the nine teams competing at the meet. SXU trailed only No. 11 Aquinas College and Indiana Institute of Technology in the final team standings. Indiana Tech is receiving votes in the latest NAIA Men's Cross Country Top 25 Poll.

CHICAGO – Led by a strong performance from junior runner Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice), the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team finished in 22nd place out of 47 teams participating in the 40th Annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Saturday, September 29, at Montrose Harbor in Chicago. The winner of the race was the University of Wisconsin with Southern Illinois University, Purdue University, host Loyola University and the University of Chicago finishing out the top five. Corcoran placed 45th out of the 456 runners competing with a time of 26:02.
