
CHICAGO – Xavier Corona, a senior outside back at Morton East High School in Cicero, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. The Cicero native will be a junior at SXU in the fall of 2013 after spending the last two seasons playing for the Morton College Panthers in Cicero under head coach Juan Franco. Corona played prep soccer for the Mustangs at Morton East High School under the direction of head coach Mike Caruso.

CHICAGO – Erik Diaz, a senior center back at Chicago Academy in Chicago, recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. The Peňa, Mexico native will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2013 and compete for playing time at the center back position. Saint Xavier University men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic loves that fact that not only is Diaz impressive on the soccer field, but is also a very focused and talented student as well.

CHICAGO – Mike Collevy, a senior center back and center midfielder at Marist High School in Chicago, recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. The Chicago native will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2013 and compete for playing time in the center back position or as a holding midfielder. Saint Xavier University men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic is thrilled with the addition of Collevy and interested in learning where he will best be utilized on the field, possibly in his debut season.

CHICAGO – Kamil Szczesniak, a senior left midfielder at Reavis High School in Burbank, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. A native of Skomielna Biola, Poland, Szczesniak will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2013 and compete for playing time on the left side of the midfield. Saint Xavier University men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic believes that Szczesniak has the ability to make an immediate impact on the Cougar squad as a freshman.

CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University men's soccer team got good news from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Saturday night when five of its players earned spots on the 2012 All-CCAC Men's Soccer Team. Senior defender Sam Vanaria (Chicago, Ill./Adelphi/UW-Parkside/Sandburg), junior goalkeeper Kyle Held (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) and sophomore midfielder Luis Medina (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) all received first team selections. Senior midfielder Kyle Breitenbach (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso University/Valparaiso) and junior defender Dale Judickas (Hickory Hills, Ill./South Suburban CC/Stagg) both received honorable mentions to the All-CCAC team. The all-conference team was announced in conjunction with Saturday's CCAC Men's Soccer Tournament Championship.

CHICAGO – Senior midfielder Kyle Breitenbach (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso Univ./Valparaiso HS) scored the lone goal for No. 2 seeded Saint Xavier University in a 3-1 loss to No. 3 seed Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Soccer Tournament at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field. ONU had a dynamic duo in sophomore midfielder Todd Bevan and sophomore Robby Gunderson. Bevan scored the game's first two goals, while Gunderson scored the insurance goal late in the second half and assisted both of Bevan's goals. With the victory, ONU advances to Saturday's tournament championship and takes on No. 1 seed and regular season champion Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) in Milwaukee.
