
Hired in 2004, Vucinic serves as head men's soccer coach at Saint Xavier University. In 2009, the SXU men's soccer team finished 13-5-1 overall and reached the semifinals of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament. The Cougars also defeated No. 2 ranked University of Rio Grande (Ohio), 1-0, and earned one of its highest ever national rankings climbing to No. 12 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll. In his first season at the helm (2004), Vucinic led the Cougars to a 13-7-4 overall record and a trip to the NAIA Region VII semifinals where SXU lost a heartbreaker on penalty kicks to No. 5 ranked Judson University (Ill.). Prior to coming to SXU, he was interim head coach for the men's soccer program at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.
In 2002, Vucinic assisted former Saint Xavier head coach Henry Barsch for one season before heading to North Central. He is currently also on the coaching staff of the Chicago Fire Premier Development League team as well as assisting with the Fire's Academy programs. Vucinic has coached at numerous soccer camps and clinics around the country providing him with a wealth of soccer knowledge to bestow upon the Cougar program and its players.
In addition to his coaching stints, Vucinic has also worked as a soccer broadcaster for Fox Sports as well as ESPN. He has provided play-by-play and analysis for professional soccer teams, such as the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Cleveland Crunch as well as various high school teams in Illinois.
Vucinic is a 1983 graduate of Lewis University (Ill.) with a degree in business administration. He played soccer for the Flyers for four years and was a three-year starter at defender. He resides in Bridgeport.
