Ekeler begins his third season at Saint Xavier University as head coach after spending the 2007 season as an assistant coach and five years as head coach at Saint Pius X High School in Lincoln, Neb.  His first campaign in 2008 was a successful one with six All-CCAC selections and a CCAC Tournament Championship, four CCAC Player of the Week honorees and a NAIA National Player of the Week.  As an assistant, Ekeler was primarily responsible for the Cougar defense, which allowed just 19 goals over 24 games and posted 10 shutouts.  The SXU defenders earned four all-conference, four all-region, and four All-American honors during the 2007 campaign.  From 2003-2007, Saint Pius X compiled a 79-10 overall record, five district titles, two state championships, two state runner-up finishes, and two NSCAA National Top 20 ratings.  This team also set 14 team and 21 individual records.

Fifteen Saint Pius X players earned All-State recognition during Ekeler's tenure and 24 went on to play soccer at the collegiate level.  In addition, Ekeler has been twice nominated for the Nebraska Coaches Association Soccer Coach of the Year (2004 & 2005). He has the following licenses:  United States Soccer Federation National D License, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced Regional and Goalkeeping 1 license and a NSCAA Regional License.

Ekeler recently received a master's degree in education administration at SXU.  He lives in Western Springs with his wife, Susan.  The couple welcomed their first child, Charlotte, in June 2009.

Strehlau joined the SXU women's soccer program as an assistant coach in 2008.  In his first season guiding the defense, three of his four defenders were selected All-CCAC, one received CCAC Player of the Week honors, and under his tutelage, Nikki Grant was chosen NAIA National Player of the Week.  As a former goalkeeper and current goalkeeper coach for the Chicago Red Stars developmental team (Red 11), Strehlau will work primarily with the Cougar goalkeepers.  He holds a USSF "D" Coaching License as well as a NSCAA Regional Goalkeeper Diploma.

Strehlau has a wealth of soccer coaching experience around the Chicagoland area. Prior to joining the Saint Xavier University women's soccer staff, he has served as varsity girl's head coach at Queen of Peace High School since 2007.  He has also been the goalkeeper coach for the Elite Soccer Trainers (Arlington Aces SoccerClub), Chicago Gaels (a USL W-League team) and Southwest United Soccer Club as well as held coaching stints with the Inter FC Soccer Club, Midwest Wings Soccer Club, Victor J. Andrew High School, and Moraine Valley Community College.  A former First Team All-Regional goalkeeper for Moraine Valley from 1997-98, Strehlau has been playing competitive soccer since 1986.

The former native of Memphis, Tenn., Strehlau now resides in Romeoville, Ill., with his wife, Christina.  The couple welcomed a daughter, Mackenzie, in August 2009.  He teaches biology and anatomy at neighboring Brother Rice High School and received his degree in kinesology from University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) in 2002 along with his K-12 teaching certificate.

Assistant Coach: 3rd Season

Anderson begins her third season as assistant coach for the Cougar women's soccer program. She had a successful debut season with her work in 2008 with the offensive attack leading to two Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Week honors and two All-CCAC selections. As a former women's soccer player at SXU from 2000-03, Anderson enjoyed a successful career in which she was a two-time NAIA Region VII Scholar-Athlete, a NAIA Academic All-American and a second-team All-CCAC selection. When she wrapped up her career in 2003, Anderson was the fifth all-time leading scorer in Saint Xavier University women's soccer history with 24 goals and 38 assists for 86 total points.

After leaving SXU, Anderson served as head junior varsity and assistant varsity girl's soccer coach at Tinley Park High School in Tinley Park from 2003-06. Since 2003, she has also coached for the Darien Dynamo, a club soccer team based out of Darien, Ill. In 2007, Anderson was the freshman boy's soccer coach at Hinsdale South High School.

Anderson is also a seventh-grade teacher in Berwyn, Ill., and lives in Jefferson Park with her new husband, Ben. She graduated from SXU in 2004 with a degree in psychology and also has a master's degree in special education.

Assistant Coach: 1st Season
Alma Mater:
St. Pierre joined the staff in the summer of 2010 and also serves as a full coach and trainer for the Lyons Township Soccer Club.  Prior to his move to the Chicagoland area, he served as head girl's soccer coach at Pius X High School from 2008-09 taking them to the semifinals of the Nebraska state playoffs both years.  From 2004-07, St. Pierre was the head assistant coach at Pius X and helped lead the program to a pair of state championships.  He also has coaching experience at Nebraska Wesleyan University and helped introduce the Nike Rush soccer program to Nebraska.  

St. Pierre holds the following licenses:  USSF National D, NSCAA National Youth and NSCAA National Diploma.  He was a player at National American University in his hometown of Rapid City, S.D.
