Ebel began in 2006 as the coach of the Saint Xavier University women's cross country and track teams. In just her second season at the helm, the Cougars won the 2007 NAIA Region VII Cross Country Meet and qualified as a team for the 2007 NAIA National Cross Country Championships. Ebel has also had a number of individual runners and relay teams qualify for Nationals in track in her short tenure. She has been named the CCAC Coach of the Year three times for cross country (2007, 2008 and 2009) and once during the indoor track season (2009). Ebel graduated magna cum laude from Saint Xavier University in 2001 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in mathematics. She was also a two-year runner on the SXU women's cross country team during the 1998 and 1999 season.
The Orland Park native was a seventh and eighth-grade mathematics teacher at the I.E. Magnet School in Joliet, Ill., prior to joining the Saint Xavier University coach staff. She resides in Orland Park with her husband, Keith. The couple have three children: Ken, Theresa, and Nick and two granddaughters, Carmella and Valerie.
