CHICAGO -- Adam Gregoriou, a senior forward at Brother Rice High School, recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University in Chicago as a member of the Cougar men's basketball program. Gregoriou was coached by Pat Richardson, while playing for the Crusaders.
Gregoriou is expected to play at the wing position next season at Saint Xavier University. The Burbank, Ill., native plans to pursue a business degree at SXU. Brother Rice finished the 2004-05 season with a 26-5 overall record and lost to eventual state champion Glenbrook North High School, 68-47, in the quarterfinals of the 2005 IHSA Class AA State Tournament. Gregoriou finished with a team-high eight rebounds in the game.
"Adam is a top recruit for us," said Saint Xavier University men's basketball coach Tom O'Malley. "Our coaching staff has been watching him progress for two years and we feel he has tremendous upside potential as a wing/post player."
