Gary, Ind. - Senior guard Phillip Watson (Chicago, Ill./Von Stueben) finished with a game-high 17 points to lead the No. 20 ranked Saint Xavier University men's basketball team over Indiana University-Northwest, 78-53, Monday in non-conference action at The Roost in Gary, Ind. SXU improves its overall season record to a perfect 3-0 with the win. In addition to Watson's 17 points, three other Cougars finished with double-digit point totals in Monday's game. Junior guard Jason Reiter (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) scored 16 points, while senior forwards Michael Rojas (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) and Eric Regan (St. Charles, Ill./Drake University) each tallied 13 points. Junior forward Jabari Saunders (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Township), Watson and Rojas each also finished with nine rebounds in the winning effort.

SXU took a 10-point advantage at halftime, 42-32, shooting 51 percent (18-for-35) from the field. However, the shooting only improved in the second half as the Cougars converted a scorching 15-of-27 (56 percent) of their field-goal attempts in the second half to blow the game wide open finishing with the 25-point win.

Saint Xavier returns home on Tuesday, November 16, to face East-West University (Ill.) in non-conference action at 8 p.m. at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
