South Bend, Ind. - Behind 20 points apiece from juniors Jason Reiter (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and Jabari Saunders (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Township), the No. 13 ranked Saint Xavier University men's basketball team picked up a big Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) win on the road Saturday defeating Indiana University-South Bend (IUSB), 80-56, in the regular season finale in South Bend, Ind. With the win, SXU claims the No. 2 spot in the final regular season CCAC standings and will own the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCAC Tournament behind league leader No. 6 Robert Morris College (Ill.).

Senior guard Phillip Watson (Chicago, Ill./Von Stueben) also scored in double figures in Saturday's victory with 13 points in addition to six rebounds. Senior guard Rick Romeli (Lansing, Ill./Marian Catholic) had a nice all-around game for SXU finishing with seven points, a game-high seven rebounds, and a game-high three steals, while senior forward Michael Rojas (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) chipped in nine points and four assists. Saint Xavier shot an impressive 62 percent (33-for-53) from the field in the game, including 71 percent (5-for-7) from three-point range.

The game stayed close in the first half with SXU holding a eight-point advantage, 32-24, at the halftime break. However, the second half was a different story as the Cougars turned up the offense hitting 19 of its 26 second half shot attempts (73 percent). SXU also did a good job of moving the ball dishing out 19 assists in the game.

Saint Xavier (26-5, 10-2 CCAC) gets set for the CCAC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, March 1. The No. 2 seeded Cougars will host No. 7 seed Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) at 7 p.m. at the Shannon Center in Chicago in first round action.
