CHICAGO - A combined 30 kills from sophomore Laura Gullickson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bishop McNamara) and senior Paige Pedigo (Chicago Ridge, Ill./Queen of Peace) helped power the Saint Xavier University volleyball team to a four-game match win (30-23, 25-30, 30-21, 30-26) over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) rival Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Tuesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago. With the victory, the Cougars maintain their perfect conference record at 3-0 and gain back an overall winning mark at 8-7.

Gullickson led the offensive attack for SXU with 16 kills, while Pedigo finished with 14. Senior setter Traci Looby (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) helped set up the attacks recording 52 assists, while sophomore libero Jenna Guide (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) led the defense with 23 digs. Junior middle blocker Eileen Carls (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) was also tough defensively for the Cougars finishing with six total blocks in Tuesday's win.

Saint Xavier (8-7 overall, 3-0 CCAC) takes a week off before getting back to action with a home match against CCAC foe Trinity International University (Ill.) on Tuesday, September 26. Start time for next Tuesday's match is 7 p.m.
