CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University sophomore righthander Ryan Quigley (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and senior centerfielder A.J. Coia (North Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) were named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, Tuesday for their impressive play in SXU's seven-game stretch last week. The Cougars went 5-2 on the week picking up conference wins against University of St. Francis (Ill.), Trinity Christian College (Ill.) and Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.).

Quigley went a perfect 2-0 in three appearances and two starts on the mound for Saint Xavier. He finished the week with a 1.80 earned-run average (ERA) and 21 strikeouts over 15 innings. Quigley had a stellar start in SXU's 8-4 road win over league rival University of St. Francis (Ill.) throwing all nine innings and limiting the Fighting Saints to eight hits and four runs (three earned). He also finished with 10 strikeouts in the game.

Coia had a big week at the plate for Saint Xavier batting .476 (10-for-21) with a double, a triple, three runs scored and seven RBI. He also was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts and finished with 12 putouts and no errors in centerfield in four starts. Coia hit a RBI single in the 10th inning of SXU's 6-3 win over CCAC foe Trinity Christian last week and was a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored in the 23-0 conference win over Calumet College of St. Joseph.

Saint Xavier returns to Ferrell Field on Wednesday, April 27, for a conference game against Trinity Christian College (Ill.) at 3:30 p.m.
