CHICAGO - Jessica Synowiecki, a outside hitter from Oak Lawn, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to transfer to Saint Xavier University and continue her academic and athletic career as a member of the Cougar volleyball program. Synowiecki transfers to SXU from Moraine Valley Community College where she enjoyed a successful two-year playing career under coach Gloria Coughlin.

Synowiecki is projected to play primarily at the outside hitter spot next fall as a junior for the Cougars. She was named the team's Most Valuable Player during both her freshman and sophomore seasons at Moraine Valley. Synowiecki is the daughter of Steve (SXU alumnus) and Sue Synowiecki. She enjoyed a successful prep career at Oak Lawn Community High School, where she was a first team all-conference and all-area player.

"Jessica brings experience to our outside hitter position," said SXU volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "Over the next two years, her experience and skill will help our program compete for a conference championship."
