- The Saint Xavier University women's cross country team took home a fourth place finish at the Aquinas College (Mich.) Cross Country Open on Friday, September 8, at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. The Cougars finished with a team score of 117 points in the 5,000-meter race.
Finishers for SXU included: freshman Lauren Dentzman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) in 17th place with a time of 19:32; freshman Amy Poull (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) at No. 26 overall with a time of 19:55; freshman Amanda Janosz (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) in 29th place at 20:05; freshman Megan Syring (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) was next for the Cougars finishing No. 52 with a time of 21:11, and sophomore Alison Schultz (Tinley Park, Ill./Bradley) at No. 57 rounded out the team score with a time of 21:38. Sophomore Marianne Lopez (Chicago, Ill./Washington) in 60th place at 21:44 also finished the race for Saint Xavier.
The Cougars head to South Bend, Ind., on Friday, September 15, to run at the National Catholic Cross Country Championships at the University of Notre Dame. The meet starts at 4 p.m. Friday.Click here for results from the Aquinas Open.
