CHICAGO - Senior setter Amy Stephens (Bowen, Ill./Camp Point Central) had a game-high 24 assists to give the Saint Xavier University volleyball team its second straight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory with a three-game match sweep of Robert Morris College (Ill.) 30-9, 30-16, 30-23 Tuesday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars have won five of their last six matches improving to 10-11 overall and 4-1 in the conference standings.
Junior Paige Pedigo (Chicago Ridge, Ill./Queen of Peace) and sophomore Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./TF-South) each led the SXU offensive attack finishing with nine kills apiece. Sophomore Kate Eckhoff (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) also played well for the Cougars finishing with seven kills and three service aces.
Saint Xavier (10-11 overall/4-1 CCAC) heads to Parkside, Wisc., on Wednesday, October 5, to face University of Wisconsin-Parkside in non-conference action. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
