Fort Myers, Fla. - Despite eight kills apiece by juniors Jessica Synowiecki (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley CC) and Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./TF-South), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team could not pick up a victory falling in three straight games to No. 10 ranked NCAA Division II foe Florida-Gulf Coast University (Fla.) 10-30, 11-30, 18-30 Saturday at Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Fla. The Cougars fall to 17-15 overall with Saturday's loss.

Junior setter Traci Looby (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) finished with team-highs of 26 assists and seven digs in the losing effort. SXU had trouble getting its offense in gear Saturday finishing the match with just a .046 attack percentage and just 28 total kills as a team. Senior outside hitter Jessica Buchmeier (Steger, Ill./Bloom Trail) also recorded six kills for SXU.

Saint Xavier (17-15 overall/4-2 CCAC) heads to Palos Heights, Ill., to face Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Tuesday, October 24. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
