CHICAGO - Behind a team-high 34 assists from senior setter Amy Stephens (Bowen, Ill./Camp Point Central), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team picked up a big Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) win over visiting Trinity Christian College (Ill.) on Senior Night Tuesday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars won the first two games of the match 30-22 and 30-27, fell in game three 22-30, but came roaring back in the fourth game with a 30-22 victory. SXU improves to 15-16 overall with the win and 5-2 in the CCAC standings.

Junior Jessica Buchmeier (Steger, Ill./Bloom Trail) paced the Cougars' offensive attack with a team-high 22 kills, while junior Paige Pedigo (Chicago Ridge, Ill./Queen of Peace) finished with 10 kills for SXU. Sophomore Eileen Carls (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) also had a nice outing during Tuesday's win scooping up nine digs.

SXU (15-16 overall/5-2 CCAC) heads to Indiana on Wednesday, October 19, to face St. Joseph's College (Ind.) in non-conference action. The start time for the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
