CHICAGO - Junior rightfielder Luke Gregerson (Lyons, Ill./Morton) went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI to propel the Saint Xavier University baseball team over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), 20-1, Thursday at Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field in Chicago. In addition, senior catcher Carlos Campos (Stickney, Ill./Morton) also finished with three hits in the winning effort scoring three runs and driving in three RBI. SXU improves to 16-15 overall and 4-2 in the CCAC with the victory.

Sophomore second baseman Craig Buske (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) also had a big day at the plate going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI, while freshman leftfielder Joe Miller (Chicago, Ill./Gordon Tech) went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. Sophomore first baseman Kevin White (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) finished with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI. SXU recorded 18 hits in the ballgame en route to its season-high 20-run output. Six different Cougar batters finished with two or more hits in the game.

Sophomore righthander Ryan Quigley (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) earned his fifth win (5-1) of the season pitching six innings and allowing just four hits and one run, while striking out five batters. Freshman rightie Joe Zotto (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) came in for one inning of relief and allowed no hits, walks or runs with one strikeout.

Saint Xavier will take on Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) on Friday, April 15, for one nine-inning road game in Whiting, Ind., starting at 6 p.m.
