Upland, Ind. - The Saint Xavier University dropped both its matches Saturday at the Taylor University Tri-Match in Upland, Indiana, falling in three games to host Taylor in the first match 17-30, 14-30, 26-30 and then losing the second match to Tiffin University (Ohio) in three games 18-30, 25-30, 24-30. With the losses, the Cougars fall to 7-24 overall this season.

In SXU's first match, sophomore Paige Pedigo (Chicago Ridge, Ill./Queen of Peace) led the offensive attack for the Cougars with five kills. Junior captain Amber Stephens (Bowen, Ill./Camp Point Central) finished with 10 digs for Saint Xavier. In the second match, SXU was led by sophomore Amber Hynek (Calumet City, Ill./Andrean) with 11 kills and 12 digs.

Saint Xavier (7-24 overall, 2-4 CCAC) returns home to face Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) rival University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Tuesday, October 19, at 7 p.m. at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
