Whiting, Ind. -- Led by the steady play of junior Carrie Mockovak (Burbank, Ill./Queen of Peace) and freshmen Kate Eckoff (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) and Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team earned its first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) win of the season defeating Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in four games 30-19, 26-30, 30-18, 30-27 Tuesday in Whiting, Ind. The Cougars improve to 4-11 overall this season and 1-2 in conference play.

SXU will take part in the MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.) Tournament this weekend in Olathe, Kan. Saint Xavier opens with a match against William Jewell College (Mo.) on Friday, September 24, at 4 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. match with host MidAmerica Nazarene.
