CHICAGO -- Freshman Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) recorded a team-high seven kills for the Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team in their first game of the SXU Cougar Invitational, but it was not enough as SXU fell to Bethel College (Ind.) in three straight games 18-30, 15-30, 25-30 Friday in first round action.

The Cougars also dropped their second match of the evening to University of Missouri-St. Louis in three straight games 23-30, 19-30, 20-30. Sophomore Amber Hynek (Calumet City, Ill./Andrean) finished game one with 11 digs for the Cougars. SXU falls to 0-6 overall on the season with the two losses.

The Cougars (0-6 overall, 0-1 CCAC) conclude the SXU Cougar Invitational Saturday playing Aquinas College (Mich.) at 12 p.m. and Iowa Wesleyan University at 2 p.m. All matches will be played at the Shannon Center.
