CHICAGO - Elysha Peele, a freshman forward from Victor J. Andrew High School in Tinley Park, Ill., recently signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Peele currently plays for Loren Zolk where she is a forward/central midfielder for the Thunderbolts of Andrew High School.
Peele is the daughter of Robert and Patty Peele of Tinley Park. She is planning to pursue a degree in psychology at Saint Xavier University. Peele was a four-year starter and a two-time team captain at Andrew High School. In 2008, she was an all-sectional, all-conference and first team all-area selection by the SouthtownStar.
"Elysha had the opportunity to play in a lot of great programs, but as far back as a year ago we felt she was a perfect fit at SXU because she reminded us so much of Jessica Martinez (current SXU player)," said Saint Xavier women's soccer coach Jeremy Ekeler. "She is one of the most decorated players in the South Suburbs and begins her senior season with over 80 career points and numerous team, all-conference, all-sectional and all-regional awards. Peele is a great signing for us and will immediately compete for playing time to help ignite our attack."
