Joliet, Ill. - Led by an 11-kill, 15-dig performance from junior Jessica Buchmeier (Steger, Ill./Bloom Trail), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team earned a big Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) road win over University of St. Francis (Ill.) Tuesday in three games (30-27, 30-28, 30-26) in Joliet, Ill. The Cougars improve to 16-17 overall with the victory and sit firmly at third place in the conference standings with a 6-2 mark.

SXU had two other players tally 11 kills on the night in senior Carrie Mockovak (Burbank, Ill./Queen of Peace) and junior Paige Pedigo (Chicago Ridge, Ill./Queen of Peace). Sophomore setter Traci Looby (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) posted a team-high 40 assists, while also leading the Cougars on defense with 16 digs.

SXU (16-17 overall/6-2 CCAC) takes a break from its CCAC slate on Thursday, October 27, with a road match against NCAA Division II foe Lewis University (Ill.) in Romeoville. Start time for the match is 7 p.m.
