CHICAGO -- Mallory Winkler, a freshman middle blocker from Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University in Chicago as a member of the Cougar volleyball program. Winkler, a native of Burbank, Ill., was coached by Jennifer Burns and Victor Botwin during her prep career at Queen of Peace.
Winkler is expected to move to the outside hitter/defender position next season at Saint Xavier University. She plans to pursue a degree in education at SXU. Winkler is the daughter of Stanley and Susan Winkler, who reside in Burbank.
"I am very excited about the addition of Mallory to our program, because she is a versatile player," said Saint Xavier University head volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "She has good ball control and a great jump serve. She will definitely make an impact on this team."
