CHICAGO - Despite 19 points by junior guard Kathlyn McClain (Oak Forest, Ill./Converse College/Marian Catholic), the No. 13 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team fell to NCAA Division I DePaul University (Ill.), 87-61, in exhibition play Friday night at McGrath Arena in Chicago. The Cougars led by three, 7-4, in the game's opening minutes before an 18-3 scoring run by the Blue Demons allowed them to pull away for good.

Saint Xavier officially kicks off its 2008-09 season on Saturday, November 8, with a home game against McKendree University (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
