CHICAGO - Despite three shots-on-goal by freshman midfielder Adrian Guzman (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle), the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team failed to score and dropped a 1-0 decision to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Trinity International University (Ill.) Saturday at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. The Cougars (5-11 overall/3-4 CCAC) finished the game with seven shots-on-goal compared to just four by the Trojans.

Trinity International notched the game-winning goal on a free kick from 25 yards out by senior forward Travis Bacon in the 34th minute. Junior keeper Ian Pickett (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) finished Saturday's game with three saves for the Cougars. Freshman defender Padraig O'Connor (Killarney Co. Kerry, Ireland/St. Brendans) posted two shots-on-goal for SXU.

Saint Xavier (5-11 overall/3-4 CCAC) wraps up its 2008 home regular season slate on Tuesday, October 21, with a CCAC game against Trinity Christian College (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field.
