Campbellsville, Ky. - Junior guard Candis Jackson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) scored a game-high 23 points as the No. 21 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team earned a big non-conference road win over No. 22 Campbellsville University (Ky.), 75-71, Saturday in Campbellsville, Ky. The Cougars have won four of their last five games and sit at 5-2 overall this season, while Campbellsville falls to 3-7.

Besides Jackson, three other SXU players scored in double figures in Saturday's victory with junior guard Angie Brown (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) recording 15 points. Sophomore guards Clarise Jones (Chicago, Ill./Regina Dominican) and Sarah Wilson (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) gave Saint Xavier a lift off the bench with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Sophomore forward Jackie Heine (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) led the Cougars on the boards with seven rebounds, while sophomore guard Dani Engleman (Oak Park, Ill./River Forest) dished out five assists.

The game was tight in the first half leading to a 34-34 tie at the halftime break. SXU shot an impressive 52 percent (15-for-29) in the first half compared to just 42 percent (13-for-31) by Campbellsville. The Cougars continued their hot shooting into the second half recording a 50 percent clip (17-for-34) after the break to help seal the win. Campbellsville had the rebounding edge, 41-27, but Saint Xavier's defense racked up 11 steals and helped force 26 CU turnovers in the game. Jenny Noort, who finished with 21 points and 15 rebounds, led Campbellsville University.

SXU (5-2 overall) returns home to face Mount Mary College (Wisc.) on Tuesday, December 6, at the Shannon Center in Chicago. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
