CHICAGO - Behind a career-high 23 points by freshman guard Jason Genova (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick), the No. 16 ranked Saint Xavier University men's basketball team rolled to a 93-56 win over visiting non-conference foe Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) Tuesday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The win gives the Cougars an overall record of 4-2, while the Crimson Wave fall to 3-4 this season.

Genova shot an impressive 8-for-13 from the field, including a 5-for-10 clip from beyond the three-point arc, en route to his 23-point output. Senior guard Jason Reiter (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) also played well for SXU scoring 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting. Sophomore forward Dan Bolger (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick) posted his second straight double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while senior forward Jabari Saunders (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Township West) just missed the cut finishing with 10 points and nine boards. Senior guard Mike Brown (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle) was solid as well with 11 points and a game-high seven assists.

The game was never in doubt as the Cougars jumped out to a commanding lead early in the ballgame. Leading 49-19 at the half behind 50 percent shooting (18-for-36), Saint Xavier continued to pour it on in the second half to seal the victory. Calumet College finished with 19 turnovers and SXU took full advantage scoring 32 of its 93 points off the CCSJ miscues. The Cougars shot a stellar 59 percent (36-for-61) from the field in the game, including 50 percent (11-for-22) from three-point range.

Saint Xavier (4-2 overall) will host the four-team SXU Classic this weekend beginning on Friday, November 25. The Cougars open the event with a 6 p.m. match-up against East-West University (Ill.) followed by Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) versus Huntington (Ind.) at 8 p.m.
