CHICAGO - Al Palar, a senior forward/midfielder at Plainfield Central High School in Plainfield, Ill., has recently signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Palar, a Joliet, Ill., native, will likely continue to play at both positions next fall for SXU.
Palar was coached by Kevin Fitzgerald for the Wildcats of Plainfield South High School. He is the son of Michael and Elizabeth Palar of Joliet and is undecided on which course of study he will pursue at the University.
"I'm extremely excited about Al's decision to come to Saint Xavier," said SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic. "He is fast, powerful, deceptive, creative and technical and is one of those players with a little flavor. He will be fun to watch and make us more dangerous up front or from the outside."
