Men's Track & Field - Sat, Jan. 26, 2008
The Saint Xavier University men's track team travelled with a selective group of three student-athletes to the Iowa State Open Track Meet on Saturday, January 26. This is a highly competitive meet featuring the top of the NCAA caliber athletes. Sophomore Chris Spencer (Frankfort, Ill./Eastern Illinois/Lincoln-Way East) clocked a 50.48 for the 400 meter dash, while sophomore John Neisler (Armington, Ill./Olympia) ran the 800 meter run in 1:59.48 and freshman Evan Lowry (Horton, Mich./Hanover-Horton) clocked 2:40.86 for the 1000 meter run. "Not a bad day," said SXU head men's track coach Ed McAllister. "Ames, Iowa, is a long travel for these guys, but the top-level experience and times justified it."

The Cougars next run in the Titan Invitational at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, February 2.
