Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University junior guard Candis Jackson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week Wednesday by the league office for her impressive performances in SXU's two big conference wins last week. Jackson averaged 16.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals to lead the Cougars to an 83-51 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and an 80-68 road win over Robert Morris College (Ill.).

In Tuesday's (Jan. 17) victory over IIT, Jackson scored a game-high 17 points, including 10 second-half points, in addition to her five rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. In Saturday's (Jan. 21) win over RMC, she shot 6-for-10 from the field for a team-high 15 points.

SXU (14-5 overall, 4-0 CCAC) will continue its season at home on Thursday, January 26, to face NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic University (Fla.) in non-conference action at the Shannon Center in Chicago. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
