CHICAGO - Ariana Robles, a transfer from College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. The forward played prep soccer at West Chicago High School in West Chicago under Julio Delreal and Sesar Gomez before playing one season for the Chaparrals at College of DuPage for Jason Hunter.
Robles is the daughter of Juan and Juana Robles, also of West Chicago. She will join Saint Xavier University as a sophomore. During her 2005 season at College of DuPage, Robles helped the Chaparrals finish with an overall record of 20-1-1. She finished the year ranked in the NJCAA Top 25 in scoring with 13 goals and 16 assists.
"Ariana is a pure finisher, who knows how to find the back of the net," said SXU women's soccer coach Derek Begich. "At the junior college level, she was one of the nation's best scorers. Ariana will add strength to our front line, plus she possesses a great work ethic, lots of speed, and an excellent first touch. I am really excited that she is joining our program."
