CHICAGO - Freshman forward Lissa Coby (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) scored the only goal for the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team Saturday as the Cougars fell, 5-1, to No. 2 nationally ranked and undefeated (21-0-0) Robert Morris College (Ill.) in the championship game of the 2004 NAIA Region VII Women's Soccer Tournament hosted by SXU in Chicago. Saint Xavier ends its 2004 season with a record of 15-7-1, while Robert Morris College receives an automatic bid to the 2004 NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament in Santa Barbara, Calif., starting Tuesday, November 16.

For most of the first half, the two teams battled back-and-forth with the game scoreless until RMC junior defender Sara Mussell floated a shot to the top left corner of the goal just over the hands of Saint Xavier sophomore goalkeeper Jessi Brink (Omaha, Neb./Burke) to take a 1-0 lead with 13:45 remaining in the first half. Robert Morris struck again with 5:34 left in the first half when junior midfielder Basilea Amoah-Tetteh scored a goal and then the Lady Eagles tacked on a third goal with just 54 seconds left before halftime when sophomore forward PatienceAvre found the back of the net.

Ahead 3-0 at halftime, Robert Morris carried its offensive surge into the second half when Amoah-Tetteh scored her second goal of the day in the game's 60th minute. RMC junior midfielder Elizabeth Baidiu got the fifth and final goal for the Lady Eagles with 17:02 remaining in regulation. Coby was able to break free from her defender in the 80th minute to score the goal for Saint Xavier off an assist from freshman midfielder Natalie Liakopoulos (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn).
