CHICAGO - Despite a 16-point outing for senior guard Ken McCormick (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East), Saint Xavier University could not keep pace with the impressive offensive output of No. 1 ranked Robert Morris College (Ill.) falling 100-77 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) men's basketball action Wednesday night at the Gentile Center in Chicago. With the loss, SXU falls to 14-7 overall and 1-2 in the CCAC, while RMC stays perfect at 20-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.

Freshman guard Julian Scott (Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillcrest) and junior forward Dan Bolger (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick) both scored in double figures for the Cougars with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Senior forward Freeman Taylor led Robert Morris in the game with a game-high 20 points and 14 rebounds. The Eagles were able to build a double-digit lead on SXU in the first half and took a 48-35 lead into halftime. The Cougars were unable to challenge the lead in the second half and trailed by as many as 28 points in the ballgame.

Saint Xavier (14-7 overall/1-2 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center on Saturday, January 27, to face conference rival University of St. Francis (Ill.). The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.
