CHICAGO - Diane Waters, a transfer from College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. The midfielder played prep soccer at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill., under Dawn Fehring and played one season for the Chaparrals at College of DuPage for Jason Hunter.
Waters is the daughter of Gary and Sandy Waters, also of Naperville. She will join Saint Xavier University as a junior and plans to pursue a degree in psychology. During her 2005 season at College of DuPage, Waters helped the Chaparrals finish with an overall record of 20-1-1.
"The signing of Diana fills out a fantastic recruiting class this year," said SXU women's soccer coach Derek Begich. "Diana has good speed, a good serve from the flanks, and a very good work rate. She is a very coachable player and her experience will help us out tremendously. Diana will help add depth to our midfield and defense and help us improve on our 14-4-2 record last season."
