WAUWATOSA, Wisc. – Freshman Ryan Koesema (FR/Joliet, Ill.) (Minooka HS / Joliet, Ill.) averaged a career-best 235.67, bowling six games for a score of 1,414 to tie for the individual title as Saint Xavier competed at the 47th Midwest Collegiate Tournament last weekend. The Cougars placed 22nd out of 40 men's teams, and 14th out of 32 programs in the women's tournament.

Koesema becomes Saint Xavier's first individual tournament winner in just the program's second competition. Jon Studer (Minooka HS / Minooka, Ill.) finished 89th overall in a field of 278 athletes, with a final score of 1,124 (187.33 average).

Destiny Miller (Shepard HS / Worth, Ill.) was the top finisher on the women's side, placing 15th with a score of 1,195 (199.17 average), with Monica Colon (Lockport Township HS / Romeoville, Ill.) finishing just three points behind at 1,192, in 16th. Marissa Ramirez (Lockport Township HS / Lockport, Ill.) posted a score of 1,033 to place 74th out of a field of 211.

The Cougars are back in action in two weeks, when they compete in the Columbia 300 Western Shootout, at Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind.
