CHICAGO, Ill. – Andreina Hernandez (Bloom Township HS / Chicago Heights, Ill.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season just when Saint Xavier needed it, as the Cougars came back from a first-half deficit to earn a draw, 1-1 with the Robert Morris Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Deaton Field.

The Cougars (2-6-4, 2-2-2 CCAC) earn their fourth point in the last four days, bouncing back from a Robert Morris goal in the 28th minute. The Eagles (4-6-2, 3-2 CCAC) took advantage of a strong tailwind, scoring on a shot nearly 50 yards away.

Once the field flipped after the halftime break, Saint Xavier started to control possession, and Hernandez would find the equalizer in the 71st minute with the assist from Abigail Peppin (Lake Central HS / Schererville, Ind.).

In extra time, SXU nearly completed the comeback, as Brooke Mejdrich (Lincoln-Way Central HS / New Lenox, Ill.) twice fired shots off the crossbar.

Goalkeeper Ashley Smialek (Westminster College / Chicago, Ill.) recorded four saves on the day, while facing nine shots altogether.

The Cougars are off for the next seven days, until they hit the road next Saturday and take on Olivet Nazarene. Kickoff from Bourbonnais on October 14 is set for 5:00 p.m.
