The Cougars (21-3, 7-1 CCAC) recorded the program's longest winning streak in nearly two decades, with the last 10-match run coming in the 2000 season. In the first match of the day, SXU found themselves down late in the first set with the Saints (9-15, 3-3 CCAC) at 20-16, but used a seven-point rally to take the lead. Tied at 23-23, Helena Atton (Herbert Henry Dow HS / Midland, Mich.) put down the kill, and a bad set from USF clinched the opening set win, 25-23.

Saint Xavier would drop the second set to the Saints 25-15, but dominate in game three, 25-12, using a 10-3 run to close out the game. The Cougars then used a 10-3 rally midway through game four to build a 16-9 advantage, but St. Francis closed the gap to 22-19 as the Saints looked to force a fifth game. Atton again slowed the momentum with a kill at 23-19, then two USF errors closed out the match, giving the Cougars a clinching 25-19 win.

To start the second match of the night the Cougars would fall behind 8-2 to Indiana-South Bend, but another big rally, 13 of 16 points midway through game one, turned the tables. Leading 20-18, SXU closed out the opener with two Bridget Krasowski (St. Joseph's [Ind.] / Oak Lawn, Ill.) kills and an Alex Lambros (Oak Forest HS / Oak Forest, Ill.) ace, to win 25-19.

SXU led by as much as 19-8 in game two, rolling to a 25-12 win and taking a two-set lead on the night. The Titans (6-8, 3-3 CCAC) jumped out to a 12-7 lead in game three, before Kate Bontrager (Indianapolis [Ind.] / Valparaiso, Ind.) recorded four kills over a five-point span, and Lambros went on to tie the score with a kill at 16-16. Krasowski finished the match with the last three points on a kill and two aces, finishing out the sweep with the 25-21 victory.

Bontrager finished the day with a combined 23 kills to lead the team, including 13 kills in the win over St. Francis. Krasowski's 12 kills paced the Cougars in the win over Indiana-South Bend.
