JOLIET, Ill.  – A goal from junior midfielder Jillian Doan (Lake Central HS / Schererville, Ind.) in the closing seconds of regulation helped earn Saint Xavier a point on the road, drawing 1-1 at St. Francis on Saturday night in CCAC action.

The Cougars (1-4-3, 1-0-1 CCAC) scored in the 90th minute, as Doan lofted a free kick over the reach of the keeper towards the far post. It was the only score after generating 18 shots, including seven shots on goal.

St. Francis (5-2-2, 1-0-1 CCAC) took the lead in the 32nd minute, scoring on one of their 12 corner kicks throughout the match. Both sides took a combined seven shots during the extra twenty minutes of overtime, but neither team could find the game-winning goal.

Goalkeeper Carly Bledsoe (Father Ryan HS / Franklin, Tenn.) finished the night with 11 saves, while facing 24 shots throughout the match.

The Cougars return to Deaton Field this Tuesday night, when they host Cardinal Stritch. Kickoff against the Wolves is set for 6:00 p.m.
