KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With a 45-point victory last week and a perfect 3-0 record on the season, Saint Xavier climbed two more spots in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Poll, released on Monday. The Cougars take their highest spot of the year in the rankings, at No. 11.

NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll (Sept. 18)

Sitting just outside the top ten, the Cougars earn their highest ranking since Sept. 12, 2016, when the team was ranked 9th following two straight home victories in the first three weeks of the season. Saint Xavier surpassed No. 23 Eastern Oregon, which lost its second game of the year on Saturday, and No. 12 Arizona Christian, which was leapfrogged by the Cougars despite winning over the weekend.

A battle of nationally-ranked teams is on tap for Saturday, when the Cougars travel to face No. 1 St. Francis (Ind.). The defending NAIA national champions earned all 16 first-place votes in this week's poll, and retain the top spot for the fifth consecutive poll. Kickoff on Saturday, September 23 is set for 5:00 p.m. CDT.
