The visitors struck quickly, converting on a corner kick in the ninth minute to claim the early lead. Despite the Eagles (1-0) holding possession throughout much of the match, the Cougars (0-2-1) were able to score the equalizer in the 22nd minute, when Hernandez' strike from 20 yards out on a free kick tied the game 1-1. Her goal was nearly identical to her first strike two nights ago, also on a free kick from over 20 yards away.

Cornerstone would reclaim the lead just four minutes later, with a goal off a cross from the left side in the 26th. Carly Bledsoe (JR/Franklin, Tenn.) would make two saves to close out the half, but the visitors would take a 2-1 edge at the break.

Saint Xavier were unable to generate many chances in the second half, and were out-shot by the Eagles 12-2. Bledsoe collected six more saves in the half, and ten saves overall in the match, but Cornerstone would put the game away with a goal in the 84th minute.

The Cougars are back in action Saturday night, when they host Aquinas (Mich.) for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.
