CHICAGO – With her first season as the Saint Xavier University softball head coach in the books, Erin Mollohan-Corrao is excited to continue to build the program with the announcement of her first recruiting class in preparation for the 2018 season.  The class consists of six newcomers made up of a pair of transfers and four incoming freshmen.  Both transfers, outfielder Zaliyah Johnson and infielder Tori Keilman, played the 2017 season at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind.  Johnson will be a junior in 2018, while Keilman enters SXU as a sophomore.  The four freshmen are:  infielder Alexandra (Allie) Maguire from Davey, Neb.; utility player Madeline (Maddie) Meisl from Evergreen Park; catcher Brittany Schultz from New Lenox and utility player Kailey Zych from Monee.

"I'm extremely thrilled with this recruiting class, because it gives our team a ton of speed and versatility," said Corrao.  "This group is full of great young women, who are dedicated student-athletes.  They will make our program look good, both on and off the field."

Saint Xavier completed its 2017 season earlier this month at the 2017 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Softball Tournament at The Ballpark in Rosemont.  The team finished with a 22-26 overall record and placed seventh in the final CCAC regular season standings with an 11-13 conference mark.
