CHICAGO -- Sarah Scigalski, a freshman midfielder from Mother McAuley High School in Chicago, has signed a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University in Chicago as a member of the Cougar women's soccer program. Scigalski, a native of Alsip, Ill., was coached by Ed McNally during her prep career at Mother McAuley.

Scigalski is expected to continue play at the midfielder position next season at Saint Xavier University. She plans to pursue a degree in business administration. Scigalski is the daughter of Gilbert and Gloria Scigalski, who reside in Alsip.

"I am very excited to have Sarah join our program," said Saint Xavier University head women's soccer coach Derek Begich. "She is my first signing from Mother McAuley. Her speed, work ethic and field vision will help strengthen our midfield play, along with her strong tackling ability."
