Davenport, Iowa – With junior guard Kara Krolicki (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and freshman guard Maddie Welter (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) combining for 57 points, including 14 three-pointers, No. 3 Saint Xavier University spoiled "Senior Day" for Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) with a 103-69 road win in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's basketball action Wednesday evening at Lee Lohman Arena in Davenport, Iowa.  The Cougars (26-2 overall/17-2 CCAC) were on fire offensively hitting at a 54-percent clip (40-for-74) from the field, including an impressive 50 percent (20-for-40) of their three-point attempts.  Krolicki led all scorers and tied her season-high single game scoring total with 34 points, while Welter added 23 to aid the effort.

Junior center Brittany Collins (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) had a solid performance as well for SXU finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks.  Her seven blocks Wednesday helped her tie the program's single season blocks record (95).  Senior guard Mikayla Leyden (Chicago, Ill./Trinity) dished out a career-high 12 assists, just missing the single-game school record (13).  Tonight's 20 three-pointers made by the Cougars was only the fourth occurrence in program history with three of those instances coming during this season.  The Fighting Bees came out strong jumping out to an early 7-2 lead, but a jumper by Krolicki with five minutes left in the first quarter gave Saint Xavier its first lead of the game, 8-7.  SXU led 22-18 after the opening frame, but used a strong finish to the second quarter to build a 49-31 halftime lead.  The Cougars continued to pull away in the third quarter behind blistering 71 percent (12-for-17) shooting.  The lead was as high as 37 points (86-49) early in the fourth quarter.

Saint Xavier (26-2 overall/17-2 CCAC) closes out its regular season slate on Saturday, February 18, with a conference home game against No. 16 Cardinal Stritch (Wis.).  The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  Prior to tip-off, SXU will honor its senior class with a "Senior Day" ceremony on the court.
