CHICAGO – The names continue to pour in as head coach Mike Feminis and the Saint Xavier University football program recently added five more players to its growing 2017 recruiting class.  The Cougars secured a running back, a wide receiver, a quarterback, a running back and two outside linebackers with the most recent installment.  The latest recruits are listed below along with a quote from Feminis on each:

Incoming freshman RB Eric Williams Jr. (5-8, 165, Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park) – two-year starter at Evergreen Park High School

"We're ecstatic to land Eric," said Feminis.  "He is a really quick and very similar to Jamarri Watson (current SXU running back), who had an excellent freshman season for us.  Adding two neighborhood kids like Eric and Pat Doyle (fellow recruit from nearby Richards H.S.) is fantastic and immediately improves our quality of depth at running back."

Incoming freshman WR Elliott Pipkin (6-1, 170, Oswego, Ill./Oswego) – 2016 Aurora Beacon-News All-Area First Team selection, 2016 Southwest Prairie Conference First Team selection

"Elliott comes from a top-notch program at Oswego and was one of the best receivers in the area," said Feminis.  "His height, length and athleticism really stood out in a very competitive Southwest Prairie Conference this year.  Elliott's going to have a fantastic career at SXU in our offense."

Incoming freshman QB Luke Nolan (6-4, 185, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South) – 2015 All-Fox Valley Conference selection

"We think Luke flew under the radar a little bit in his senior season, because his team struggled, but he has legit D-I size and is a terrific athlete," added Feminis. "Luke is going to need a couple of years to physically develop, but his upside is obvious.  With Alex Martinez (current SXU quarterback) and Justin Hunniford (fellow SXU recruit) here, we are now set at the QB position for the next few years."

Incoming freshman OLB Patrick Olson (6-3, 205, Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) – 2016 Post-Tribune All-Area Honorable Mention team selection

"Patrick actually visited our campus for the first time last year after his junior season, liked what he saw and obviously his connection with Stephen Simms (former SXU player) coming from Valparaiso helped," said Feminis. "Patrick has a nice frame on him and, with a couple of years in the weight room, he should develop into a productive player for us as an outside linebacker or defensive end."

Incoming freshman OLB Conor McHale (5-10, 210, Chicago, Ill./Marist)

"Conor is a military veteran from the area, and although he hasn't played since his high school days at Marist, he is coming to SXU to earn his degree and play some football," said Feminis.  "We can't thank the men and women who serve our country enough for their sacrifices, so having a guy like Conor on our team is really special."
