CHICAGO – Junior point guard Quinn Niego (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) led six Saint Xavier University players to score in double figures in a big 98-60 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory over Judson University (Ill.) Tuesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  Niego finished with a double-double performance of 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds as well as five assists to help lead the charge.  The Cougars even up their overall record at 8-8 and improve to 5-3 in the conference standings with the win.  SXU jumped out to an early 17-9 lead in the game's first eight minutes and never looked back on its way to a 41-22 halftime lead.

Senior guard Kyle Huppe (Edgerton, Kan./Gardner Edgerton), junior forward Niko Cahue (Orland Park, Ill./Moraine Valley CC/Sandburg) and freshman forward Keating Rombach (Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township) each scored 14 points in Tuesday's victory.  Sophomore point guard Jacob Strong (Koontz Lake, Ind./John Glenn) and freshman guard Jack Brody (Lockport, Ill./UIndy/Providence Catholic) each added 10 points.  Brody also notched a double-double effort on the night with 10 rebounds and added game-bests of three steals and three blocks as well.  The Cougars were on fire offensively hitting 58 percent (37-for-64) of their shots from the floor, including 53 percent (9-for-17) from the three-point arc.  SXU scored 57 points in the second half behind a blistering 63 percent (22-for-35) clip.  In addition, SXU took care of the basketball, which proved to be a key component toward the end result, as SXU committed just six turnovers in the game.

Saint Xavier (8-8 overall/5-3 CCAC) continues conference play on Thursday, January 5, heading downtown to take on Roosevelt University (Ill.).  The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start at the Goodman Center in Chicago.
