CHICAGO – In a field featuring seven nationally-ranked or receiving-votes teams, Saint Xavier University junior Ellie Willging (Freeport, Ill./Freeport) used a second-place individual performance to earn her the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award when the league office announced the honor Wednesday morning.  It was the second time this season that she has won the weekly accolade with the first coming back on September 21.

Willging authored a time of 17:58 over the 5K (5,000 meters) course to lead the No. 17 nationally ranked Cougars to a third-place team finish in the Blue Race of the Bethel College (Ind.) Invitational last Friday.  The field was made up of 95 total runners comprising 14 teams, including No. 3 Aquinas College (Mich.) and No. 7 Taylor University (Ind.), the only schools to place higher than SXU at the meet.

Saint Xavier heads to Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday, October 22, for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.  The women's race is scheduled for a noon (eastern) start.
