CHICAGO - Led by 14 kills and two solo blocks by senior middle blocker Tara Breshock (Lansing, Ill./TF-South), the Saint Xavier University volleyball team won its ninth straight match with a victory over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Robert Morris College (Ill.) Tuesday at the Shannon Center in Chicago. The Cougars (18-10 overall/6-1 CCAC) won the match in three straight sets 30-16, 30-27, 30-19 and remain in a second-place tie with University of St. Francis (Ill.) in the CCAC standings with a 6-1 mark.

In addition to Breshock's standout performance, senior outside hitter Jessica Synowiecki (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley CC) played well recording eight kills with no attack errors. Senior setter Traci Looby (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) helped put together the potent offensive attack with a team-best 42 set assists to go along with her three service aces and two solo blocks. Senior middle blocker Eileen Carls (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) led the Cougars defensively scooping up 18 digs.

Saint Xavier (17-10 overall, 5-1 CCAC) takes a break from its CCAC slate to take on NCAA Division II Lewis University (Ill.) on Wednesday, October 17. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Romeoville, Ill.
