Findlay, Ohio - Saint Xavier University senior kicker/punter Shane Longest (Wilmington, Ill./Wilmington) was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League Special Teams Player of the Week Tuesday for his performance last Saturday in SXU's 41-13 win over No. 19 Urbana University (Ohio). It is the fourth time in the last six weeks that Longest has secured the weekly league recognition.

Longest did a little bit of everything for Saint Xavier in Saturday's Mideast League victory. He averaged 43.3 yard per punt on three attempts, including putting two inside the Urbana 20-yardline. He averaged 57.7 yards per kickoff on his seven attempts, including a touchback. Longest also was a perfect 5-for-5 on PAT attempts and connected on two field goals (23, 52), his 52-yarder coming as time expired in the first half and helped spark 24 unanswered points by the Cougars.

Saint Xavier (6-1 overall/2-1 MSFA) heads to Indianapolis this Saturday, October 20, to take on MSFA Mideast League foe Marian College (Ind.). The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. eastern time start at the Pike High School football field in Indianapolis.
