CHICAGO - Kim Scudder, a senior middle hitter on the York High School volleyball team in Elmhurst, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar volleyball program. The Elmhurst native will compete for playing time next fall at the middle blocker and outside hitter positions.
Scudder is the daughter of Jim and Sue Ellen Scudder of Elmhurst. She is currently coached by Patty Iverson at York High School and is also a member of the Lions Jrs. Volleyball Club. Scudder is looking to pursue a degree in biology (pre-med) next year at Saint Xavier University.
"Kim comes from a great high school program at York and has benefited from quality coaching on her club team as well," said Saint Xavier University volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "She has the abilities to step in right away and compete from the first day of practice."
