Kenosha, Wis. - With seven season-best 5K (5,000 meters) times, the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team placed fourth out of 14 teams Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Cross Country Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. The Cougars ran on the same course this weekend that will be used for the 2007 NAIA National Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 17. "Considering this is the same course that we are hoping to run on in mid-November for Nationals, I am very pleased with our times," said Saint Xavier University women's cross country coach Lisa Ebel. "I think we will have a great showing in next weekend's conference meet. We have improved our team time nearly every week this season and I'm very optimistic about our chances of challenging for a conference title."

Saint Xavier begins its postseason this weekend with the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Cross Country Meet in Whiting, Ind., on Saturday, October 20. The women's race will be held at Lost Marsh Golf Course at 11 a.m.
