Babson Park, Fla. - Despite eight saves by junior goalkeeper James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry), the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team dropped a tough game to non-conference foe Webber International University (Fla.), 1-0, Thursday night in Babson Park, Fla. The loss ends a three-game win streak by the Cougars, who fall to 6-7 overall on the season. The contest was settled by freshman forward Nick Weightman, who scored in the game's 29th minute. Freshman midfielder Christian Hall threaded a slide-rule pass to Weightman, who shimmied by his marker to curl the ball into the top corner from 20 yards out. SXU was forced to play a man short for the final 60 minutes of regulation following a red card penalty in the 29th minute of play. Kline was stellar in goal for the Cougars stopping a penalty kick by Webber International in the opening minutes of the game. The Warriors out-shot SXU, 21-5, in the game.
